Eva Barker was born in Bryn, Wigan in 1932. She studied in Bristol's Art School and started her career as an art teacher, and later worked as an artist and weaver.In 1965, Eva, along with her young family moved to Hall Lane in Aspull and remained there for the rest of her life.For many years,Eva was closley involved with St Elizabeth's Church, and it was in the late 1990s, with her friends of the parish,that the work began in researching the history of Aspull.She was in the final stages of completing the book when she died suddenly in October 2001.Eva's family are delighted and grateful that her work can now be shared.
