Recently discovered archive documentary footage, filmed by Sagar Mitchell and James Kenyon between 1910 and 1913. Fully restored by the British Film Institute, this footage is a fascinating archive record of a vanished time. Over three episodes Kenyon and Mitchell reveal the ordinary worker enjoying a new growth in leisure time, focusing on the rise of professional football teams like Manchester United, and the changing social environment as motor cars begin to replace the horse and carriage on British streets, and as the growing cinema industry begins to put documentary-makers like Mitchell and Kenyon out of business.
